For 50 years, Japan-based pub\u00adlish\u00ader Shueisha Inc. brought to the world to leg\u00adendary char\u00adac\u00adters such as Son Goku, Mon\u00adkey D. Luffy and Naru\u00adto Uzi\u00adma\u00adki. With these char\u00adac\u00adters and their respec\u00adtive series, they became overnight hits in Japan with var\u00adi\u00adous movies, mer\u00adchan\u00addise (includ\u00ading video games) and sep\u00ada\u00adrate graph\u00adic nov\u00adels. It was only a mat\u00adter of time that the SJ<\/span> phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adnon would branch out to the rest of the world being pub\u00adlished in var\u00adi\u00adous lan\u00adguages includ\u00ading Eng\u00adlish. Shon\u00aden Jump, undis\u00adput\u00aded\u00adly, has become the stan\u00addard of intro\u00adduc\u00ading new ani\u00adme and man\u00adga series. J\u2011Stars Vic\u00adto\u00adry VS<\/span>+ is an exam\u00adple of that standard.

\nPub\u00adlished by Nam\u00adco Bandai and co-devel\u00adoped with Spike Chun\u00adsoft, J\u2011Stars takes more than 50 char\u00adac\u00adters from 32 series with\u00adin the Shon\u00aden Jump uni\u00adverse and pits them against each oth\u00ader in var\u00adi\u00adous loca\u00adtions with\u00adin each SJ<\/span> series. The sto\u00adry mode con\u00adsists of each SJ<\/span> char\u00adac\u00adter prepar\u00ading for the \u201cJump Bat\u00adtle Tour\u00adna\u00adment,\u201d devised by the god of Jump World to deter\u00admine its strongest cham\u00adpi\u00adons who will defend it from evil forces pos\u00ading as strong fighters.

\nWith\u00adin the sto\u00adry mode there are four arcs: Dynam\u00adic with Luffy, Hope with Naru\u00adto, Inves\u00adti\u00adga\u00adtion with Toriko and Goku and Pur\u00adsuit with Ichi\u00adgo. Regard\u00adless of the arc you choose, your char\u00adac\u00adter and their respec\u00adtive com\u00adrades will face off against oth\u00aders to obtain essen\u00adtial parts for your pro\u00advid\u00aded ship and badges required to enter the tour\u00adna\u00adment. I like the sto\u00adry mode, and I also like that the arcade ver\u00adsus mode is an option when you just want to pit char\u00adac\u00adters against each oth\u00ader to see who would win. <\/span>
\nCon\u00adtrol is sim\u00adple, which has your char\u00adac\u00adters roam free dur\u00ading bat\u00adtle to pull off their sig\u00adna\u00adture moves along with a Drag\u00adon Ball-styled map to track the battle\u2019s progress. How\u00adev\u00ader, the down\u00adside is the game cam\u00adera: It moves wild\u00adly about and con\u00adstant\u00adly requires adjust\u00adment. At the end of each suc\u00adcess\u00adful bat\u00adtle, your char\u00adac\u00adters not only gain expe\u00adri\u00adence points, but also gain cur\u00adren\u00adcy called \u201cjump coins,\u201d which upgrades skills and cloth\u00ading and unlocks var\u00adi\u00adous theme music and addi\u00adtion\u00adal char\u00adac\u00adters to strength\u00aden your team. <\/span><\/p>\n

All of the sound in the game is cour\u00adtesy of Nam\u00adco Bandai\u2019s excel\u00adlent sound depart\u00adment and the use of Dol\u00adby Dig\u00adi\u00adtal. There isn\u2019t an Eng\u00adlish voice track in J\u2011Stars, but the Japan\u00adese voice track for each char\u00adac\u00adter is per\u00adformed per\u00adfect\u00adly, as if you\u2019re watch\u00ading a Shon\u00aden Jump ani\u00adme. J\u2011Stars Vic\u00adto\u00adry VS<\/span>+ is per\u00adfect for an ani\u00adme con\u00adven\u00adtion tour\u00adna\u00adment or if you want to spend a day with friends immers\u00ading your\u00adselves in Shon\u00aden Jump lore. <\/span><\/p>\n

This ani\u00adme-infused brawler is anoth\u00ader tes\u00adta\u00adment to Shon\u00aden Jump\u2019s recog\u00adni\u00adtion of being a leader in glob\u00adal pop cul\u00adture and how ani\u00adme and man\u00adga are quick\u00adly becom\u00ading visu\u00adal arts that aren\u2019t just for kids.<\/span><\/p>\n
