A bit\u00ading good collection<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Col\u00adlec\u00adtions come a dime a dozen these days. Every\u00adone wants to have a pack\u00adage of their best fight\u00ading games and then upsell them for the next cou\u00adple of gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions since the cur\u00adrent con\u00adsole might not have back\u00adward com\u00adpat\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty. Cap\u00adcom is no stranger to this, hav\u00ading released sev\u00ader\u00adal Street Fight\u00ader col\u00adlec\u00adtions over the years. The final game series to get this treat\u00adment was Dark\u00adstalk\u00aders aka Vam\u00adpire in Japan with the Vam\u00adpire Collection.<\/span>
\nFor those who are unini\u00adti\u00adat\u00aded, Cap\u00adcom does make fight\u00ading games beyond Street Fight\u00ader: Vam\u00adpire doesn\u2019t get as much due and press as Street Fight\u00ader but is just as good. But let\u2019s get into the meat and pota\u00adtoes of why you\u2019re here: Is the col\u00adlec\u00adtion any good? I can resound\u00ading\u00adly answer yes. It\u2019s every\u00adthing you\u2019d want of the Vam\u00adpire series, includ\u00ading games that nev\u00ader made it to the U.S. <\/span><\/p>\n

Mak\u00ading up the col\u00adlec\u00adtion are Vampire\/Darkstalkers, Vam\u00adpire Hunter\/Darkstalkers 2, Vam\u00adpire Savior\/Darkstalkers 3, Vam\u00adpire Hunter 2, Vam\u00adpire Sav\u00adior 2 and what Cap\u00adcom calls a hyper ver\u00adsion of Sav\u00adior 2, which pits all ver\u00adsions of the char\u00adac\u00adters against each oth\u00ader. In those five games is a deep fight\u00ading game engine with great mechan\u00adics and an inter\u00adest\u00ading sto\u00adry\u00adline that invokes mon\u00adsters of mythology.<\/span><\/p>\n

The game\u00adplay style didn\u2019t change too much between games but it\u2019s unique and has char\u00adac\u00adter enough to encour\u00adage even the most hard\u00adened street fight\u00ader to come back and learn more. There are advanced tech\u00adniques such as Dark Force and chains to learn as well as movesets that require some con\u00adtroller gym\u00adnas\u00adtics to mas\u00adter. <\/span>The char\u00adac\u00adter design in each of the collection\u2019s games is a bit wonky from the age of Capcom\u2019s over\u00adstyl\u00adized car\u00adtoon\u00adish era of hand-drawn sprites but it doesn\u2019t look terrible. <\/span><\/p>\n

The best thing about the series \u2014 oth\u00ader than the game\u00adplay \u2014 is the sound\u00adtrack. <\/span>Hunter 2 and Sav\u00adior 2 nev\u00ader made it to the U.S., and Dark\u00adstalk\u00aders in gen\u00ader\u00adal didn\u2019t do as well as Cap\u00adcom would have liked. And that\u2019s why this col\u00adlec\u00adtion is a must-buy item. You won\u2019t see this in Amer\u00adi\u00adca, and it should be. The games are pre\u00adsent\u00aded in their orig\u00adi\u00adnal form with all ver\u00adsions avail\u00adable. This pack\u00adage is worth find\u00ading and importing.<\/span><\/p>\n
