A mega col\u00adlec\u00adtion of Blue Bomber greatness<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a huge Mega Man fan. If allowed to, I would dec\u00ado\u00adrate GI<\/span> head\u00adquar\u00adters in every room with gear resem\u00adbling Capcom\u2019s infa\u00admous Blue Bomber. After Mega Man\u2019s last adven\u00adture on the NES<\/span>, I found that dur\u00ading the tran\u00adsi\u00adtion from 8\u2011bit to 16-bit gam\u00ading a new char\u00adac\u00adter known as Mega Man X would appear, giv\u00ading the Mega Man series a new chap\u00adter set years after the orig\u00adi\u00adnal. While I played a few MMX<\/span> games when it was on SNES<\/span> and PSOne, I real\u00adized that I liked the X series but won\u00addered if Cap\u00adcom would do a col\u00adlec\u00adtion for the PlaySta\u00adtion 2. My wish was grant\u00aded in Mega Man X Collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

MMX<\/span> Col\u00adlec\u00adtion is sim\u00adply as adver\u00adtised: A col\u00adlec\u00adtion of the first Mega Man X games released. It con\u00adsists of MMX<\/span> and MMX2<\/span> from their SNES<\/span> debut; MMX3<\/span> \u2014 anoth\u00ader SNES<\/span> game that was port\u00aded to PSOne; and MMX<\/span> 4, 5 and 6, which were released for PSOne. There is also an unlock\u00adable game, \u201cMega Man Bat\u00adtle and Chase,\u201d an exclu\u00adsive nev\u00ader released out\u00adside of Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

In each MMX<\/span> game, you take con\u00adtrol of \u201cX,\u201d a new ver\u00adsion of the Blue Bomber cre\u00adat\u00aded by Dr. Light years after the orig\u00adi\u00adnal Mega Man. X is a more pow\u00ader\u00adful ver\u00adsion of our blue titan but with free will. 100 years lat\u00ader, after Dr. Light\u2019s death, X was found by Dr. Cain, a robot\u00adics expert who devel\u00adoped robots based on X\u2019s design known as \u201creploids.\u201d How\u00adev\u00ader, this began a rise of rebel\u00adlious reploids, known as mav\u00ader\u00adicks, which led to the for\u00adma\u00adtion of a group known as mav\u00ader\u00adick hunters to stop them. Alas, the mav\u00ader\u00adick hunter\u2019s leader Sig\u00adma became a mav\u00ader\u00adick (and the series\u2019 main vil\u00adlain), forc\u00ading X to team up with anoth\u00ader mav\u00ader\u00adick hunter named Zero to stop Sigma\u2019s plan for glob\u00adal domination.<\/span><\/p>\n

Con\u00adtrol of X is sim\u00adple as any reg\u00adu\u00adlar side-scrolling game, espe\u00adcial\u00adly with the option of switch\u00ading between the ana\u00adlog sticks or direc\u00adtion\u00adal but\u00adtons. X\u2019s main weapon, the X\u2011Buster, and oth\u00ader weapons he acquires from a lev\u00adel boss can be pow\u00adered up in addi\u00adtion to find\u00ading upgrad\u00aded boots, hel\u00admet and armor via secret areas in each lev\u00adel. Using a sub screen, I appre\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded that it was under\u00adstand\u00adable and sim\u00adple in orga\u00adniz\u00ading items and weapons since, in oth\u00ader side scrolling games, look\u00ading for need\u00aded items is time con\u00adsum\u00ading and morale-drain\u00ading. Zero is also playable in MMX<\/span> 4, 5 and 6 where con\u00adtrol\u00adling him is a guar\u00adan\u00adteed good time as he is not only equipped with his own Buster weapon, but also his sig\u00adna\u00adture Z\u2011Saber cuts ene\u00admies down to size.<\/span><\/p>\n

The graph\u00adics have been refreshed, ensur\u00ading that a thought\u00adful bal\u00adance of action-adven\u00adture and ani\u00adme-styles ele\u00adments are intact. Capcom\u2019s music depart\u00adment did an awe\u00adsome job remix\u00ading each game\u2019s sound\u00adtracks. With the amount of detail put into this game, the replay val\u00adue is high, espe\u00adcial\u00adly if you\u2019re want\u00adi\u00adng to get deep\u00ader into the Mega Man lore.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mega Man X Col\u00adlec\u00adtion is the per\u00adfect answer for a devot\u00aded fan\u00adbase of the Blue Bomber. While the MMX<\/span> series may be in ques\u00adtion, I hope Cap\u00adcom hears Mega Man\u2019s fans\u2019 calls to con\u00adtin\u00adue his leg\u00adendary return to gam\u00ading as the MMX<\/span> col\u00adlec\u00adtion is a great way to con\u00adtin\u00adue Mega Man X\u2019s hunt.<\/span><\/p>\n
