Dev\u00adil\u2019s in the details: DMC4<\/span> a nice break from Dante<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Capcom\u2019s \u201cDev\u00adil May Cry\u201d series is a game that has basi\u00adcal\u00adly rede\u00adfined the term \u201chack-and-slash\u201d in video games. With the first three games using hack-and-slash style as well as action-adven\u00adture ele\u00adments, I won\u00addered what new sur\u00adpris\u00ades would the fourth install\u00adment of the series bring and to which system? <\/span><\/p>\n

DMC<\/span> 4 fea\u00adtures demon-hunter extra\u00ador\u00addi\u00adnaire Dante, but the sto\u00adry and main char\u00adac\u00adter has changed for a more intense expe\u00adri\u00adence. Tak\u00ading place in a remote island town called For\u00adtu\u00adna, you assume the role of Nero \u2014 a younger ver\u00adsion of Dante \u2014 who is a mem\u00adber of the Order of the Sword. The Order of the Sword is a mil\u00adi\u00adtant reli\u00adgious orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion formed to destroy demons based on the actions of the Demon-Knight Spar\u00adda, who rebelled against the demon under\u00adworld to pro\u00adtect human\u00adi\u00adty. At a recent cer\u00ade\u00admo\u00adny to hon\u00ador Spar\u00adda, Dante smash\u00ades though a sky\u00adlight and kills the priest lead\u00ading the cer\u00ade\u00admo\u00adny, set\u00adting off a chain of events that would not only put Dante and Nero on a col\u00adli\u00adsion course with each oth\u00ader, but also would lead both demon-hunters through a greater mys\u00adtery to find out the true inten\u00adtions of the Order and to stop a more vicious plot of a demon-invasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Dante\u2019s role in DMC<\/span> 4 is not as the main char\u00adac\u00adter, he does still play a key role in the game as a playable char\u00adac\u00adter in cer\u00adtain scenes. Nero is not to be tak\u00aden light\u00adly either as his arse\u00adnal con\u00adsists of his Dev\u00adil Bringer arm, his mechan\u00adi\u00adcal sword Red Queen and his dou\u00adble bar\u00adrel revolver, Blue Queen. Nero can gain an extra advan\u00adtage to accom\u00adplish his mis\u00adsion by gath\u00ader\u00ading \u201cRed Souls,\u201d DMC<\/span>\u2019s orig\u00adi\u00adnal game cur\u00adren\u00adcy, and \u201cProud Souls,\u201d a new cur\u00adren\u00adcy. After a mis\u00adsion is com\u00adplet\u00aded, Pride Souls can pow\u00ader up Nero\u2019s tools rang\u00ading from extend\u00ading the Dev\u00adil Bringer\u2019s reach to more pow\u00ader\u00adful shots from the Blue Queen. The con\u00adtrols for Dante and Nero are easy to use thanks to the PS3<\/span>\u2019s Six Axis controller\u2019s built-in ana\u00adlog fea\u00adture, which I found help\u00adful with cam\u00adera issues from time to time. <\/span><\/p>\n

The excel\u00adlent detail that is used in each lev\u00adel comes to life in the back\u00adground and cin\u00ade\u00admat\u00adic scenes. These were done with high def\u00adi\u00adn\u00adi\u00adtion tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy that will make you feel like you are play\u00ading with a mas\u00adter\u00adpiece of art instead of a video game. Capcom\u2019s sound team brings their A\u2011game again. Each sound and vocal effect com\u00adbined with Dol\u00adby Dig\u00adi\u00adtal Sound gives an orches\u00adtral qual\u00adi\u00adty to the game. Cap\u00adcom did a great job in voice and motion cap\u00adture for DMC<\/span> 4. John\u00adny Yong Bosch (Bleach, Street Fight\u00ader IV<\/span>) brought Nero to life and Reuben Lang\u00addon repris\u00ading his role as Dante.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dev\u00adil May Cry 4 shows what Cap\u00adcom is capa\u00adble of doing when they let their devel\u00adop\u00adment team do its job: make their games enjoy\u00adable. DMC4<\/span> is a chal\u00adleng\u00ading, but enjoy\u00adable way to kill free time when you want to get your demon-hunt\u00ading on. The replay val\u00adue is strong espe\u00adcial\u00adly if you are a vet\u00ader\u00adan DMC<\/span> play\u00ader; this game is worth your hard-earned cash.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
