Max\u00adi\u00admo con\u00adtin\u00adues the quest to res\u00adcue the princess<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I have a love and hate rela\u00adtion\u00adship with Cap\u00adcom. For every game they devel\u00adop and pub\u00adlish that will be a smash hit by being more cre\u00adative and stick\u00ading to the basics, they churn out five or six copies of the same game with\u00adout break\u00ading any new ground (i.e. Street Fight\u00ader V). I won\u2019t even men\u00adtion how they stud\u00adied the Kon\u00ada\u00admi code of dis\u00adpos\u00ading of one of their great\u00adest game series and its leader. With this view of Cap\u00adcom off my chest, let\u2019s look at a game that is orig\u00adi\u00adnal and has become a suc\u00adces\u00adsor to the clas\u00adsic games Ghosts \u2018N Gob\u00adlins and Adven\u00adture Island: Max\u00adi\u00admo: Ghosts to Glory.<\/span><\/p>\n

You take the role of said char\u00adac\u00adter, Max\u00adi\u00admo, who, after return\u00ading from a bat\u00adtle to pro\u00adtect his king\u00addom, finds out that his main lady Queen Sophia is cap\u00adtured by his once-trust\u00aded advis\u00ader, Achille. To make mat\u00adters worse, Achille has devel\u00adoped a drill that has pierced the under\u00adworld, allow\u00ading him to cre\u00adate an army of undead mon\u00adsters to ter\u00adror\u00adize the king\u00addom. All is not lost as is seems that as Max\u00adi\u00admo was free-falling, the Grim Reaper makes a deal for him to return to the liv\u00ading world in exchange for return\u00ading the lost souls to the under\u00adworld. Max\u00adi\u00admo accepts and begins his quest to free Sophia and restore the peace tak\u00aden by Achille. <\/span><\/p>\n

Max\u00adi\u00admo retains the ele\u00adments from Ghosts \u2018N Gob\u00adlins and Adven\u00adture Island but allows free\u00addom to explore all of the stages thanks to its 3D<\/span> design. Max\u00adi\u00admo has the abil\u00adi\u00adty to run, jump and crouch to avoid ene\u00admies and is eas\u00adi\u00adly con\u00adtrolled with use of the ana\u00adlog con\u00adtrol stick. Max\u00adi\u00admo is also ready for bat\u00adtle with his trusty sword and shield, which can be thrown at approach\u00ading ene\u00admies and capa\u00adble of wip\u00ading out all ene\u00admies on the screen if the right pow\u00ader-ups are applied. In addi\u00adtion to his sword and shield, Max\u00adi\u00admo has his armor which, if all the parts are gath\u00adered, he becomes invin\u00adci\u00adble for a brief period. <\/span><\/p>\n

A heads up: Make sure that Max\u00adi\u00admo keeps his armor as long as pos\u00adsi\u00adble since like Arthur in Ghosts \u2018N Gob\u00adlins, if Max\u00adi\u00admo takes too many hits, he would be down to his box\u00aders, which would lead to his death if he takes anoth\u00ader hit. Also, con\u00adtrol\u00adling Max\u00adi\u00admo is not dif\u00adfi\u00adcult, but some prac\u00adtice is rec\u00adom\u00admend\u00aded to get adjust\u00aded to mov\u00ading around. <\/span>
\nThe stages are excel\u00adlent\u00adly designed and guar\u00adan\u00adteed to make you feel that you\u2019re in Maximo\u2019s world. The game\u2019s music is an enjoy\u00adable mix of orig\u00adi\u00adnal and remas\u00adtered tracks from the orig\u00adi\u00adnal Ghosts \u2018N Gob\u00adlins. The chal\u00adlenge lev\u00adel is ridicu\u00adlous\u00adly high, guar\u00adan\u00adtee\u00ading great replay value. <\/span><\/p>\n

Max\u00adi\u00admo: Ghosts to Glo\u00adry is one of those type of games that will please fans of old-school adven\u00adture gam\u00ading who want to play the genre with the lat\u00adest tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy. In my opin\u00adion, Max\u00adi\u00admo is also a exam\u00adple of what Cap\u00adcom can do when they allow cre\u00adativ\u00adi\u00adty to flour\u00adish instead of always milk\u00ading their gold\u00aden fran\u00adchis\u00ades to death. <\/span>
