As a devout Dance Dance Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion fan, I\u2019ve made it clear that qual\u00adi\u00adty DDR<\/span> is non-nego\u00adtiable. And what I mean by that is, a mix has to be good. It has to have DDR<\/span> orig\u00adi\u00adnals, maybe a few qual\u00adi\u00adty licens\u00ades and the inter\u00adface has to be work\u00adable. DDR<\/span> Kon\u00adamix, a North Amer\u00adi\u00adcan port of DDR<\/span> 4th Mix, is a semi-decent solu\u00adtion to a real problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kon\u00adamix plays like every oth\u00ader ear\u00adly pre-Super\u00adNo\u00adva ver\u00adsion of DDR<\/span>. Step\u00adping on arrows in time to a song is refined by this point, so it\u2019s noth\u00ading new, and scor\u00ading also remains the same as DDR<\/span> 1st Mix through 3rd Mix. So, real\u00adly the most impor\u00adtant aspect of this mix is the songlist, and there are some gems here. Some of our favorites appeared here for the first time in a North Amer\u00adi\u00adcan release, such as PARA\u00adNOiA Rebirth and SUPER<\/span> STAR<\/span>. The 52 songs in the track\u00adlist are all Kon\u00ada\u00admi orig\u00adi\u00adnals, hence the name, and that\u2019s a boon because that imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly makes the list worth play\u00ading and makes up for a few weird issues.<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/span>But how does it play? In terms of DDR<\/span> mix playa\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty, it\u2019s not user friend\u00adly like lat\u00ader mix\u00ades. The tim\u00ading is high\u00adly sus\u00adpect, and adjust\u00ading that fea\u00adture in the options is stil\u00adluse\u00adless. Because of the dif\u00adfer\u00adences in frame rates and mod\u00adern tele\u00advi\u00adsions, try\u00ading to play this is a fool\u2019s errand because it\u2019s almost so off that you\u2019re nev\u00ader going to do well. The weird tim\u00ading issues mean a lot of Goods, Greats and Boos. Also, the inter\u00adface is obnox\u00adious until you choose to use All Music. With every\u00adthing unlocked, the All Music option makes the game tolerable. <\/span><\/p>\n

With a lot of flawed options and playa\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty issues, DDR<\/span> Kon\u00adamix isn\u2019t exact\u00adly a must-have. How\u00adev\u00ader, only because of the Kon\u00ada\u00admi orig\u00adi\u00adnals should you buy this; some of these beau\u00adties are rare enough that you\u2019d need to import Japan\u00adese mix\u00ades to see them again. While I have a nos\u00adtal\u00adgic fond\u00adness for Kon\u00adamix because it was my first expo\u00adsure to mod\u00adern DDR<\/span>, I would only con\u00adsid\u00ader this mix if you want to be called a DDR<\/span> master.<\/span><\/p>\n
