The ulti\u00admate nin\u00adja warrior<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Strid\u00ader Hiryu. Best known for his appear\u00adances in the Mar\u00advel vs. Cap\u00adcom series, he has been con\u00adsid\u00adered a top-tier char\u00adac\u00adter by play\u00aders and is con\u00adsis\u00adtent\u00adly pop\u00adu\u00adlar. Strid\u00ader also appeared in a stand\u00adalone game in 2014 for var\u00adi\u00adous con\u00adsoles at the time. How\u00adev\u00ader, Strid\u00ader was already estab\u00adlished, start\u00ading in 1989 with his orig\u00adi\u00adnal arcade release that was port\u00aded to the NES<\/span> and to the Gen\u00ade\u00adsis in 1990 via Sega. It was titled, yep, you guessed it, \u201cStrid\u00ader.\u201d<\/span>
\nIn the year 1998, after a series of dis\u00adas\u00adters fell upon Earth, peo\u00adple across the globe real\u00adized their sit\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion and began to work togeth\u00ader to rebuild. Four years lat\u00ader, in an East\u00adern Euro\u00adpean nation called Kaza\u00adfu sev\u00ader\u00adal red dots appeared as the advance guard of the evil space being Meio. They caused imme\u00addi\u00adate destruc\u00adtion of Kafazu, Europe, and North and South Amer\u00adi\u00adca, result\u00ading in 80 per\u00adcent of Earth\u00ad\u2019s pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion being wiped out. How\u00adev\u00ader, on a small South Seas Island called Mora\u00adlos, a secret orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion known as \u201cStrid\u00aders\u201d began to move to stop Meio\u2019s reign of ter\u00adror. They sent their best agent, Hiryu, for\u00adward with the task of stop\u00adping Meio and his plans for world domination. <\/span>
\nCon\u00adtrol of Hiryu is sim\u00adple, allow\u00ading him to attack in either direc\u00adtion, duck when fight\u00ading, and climb to reach high\u00ader areas. Hiryu also has use of his plas\u00adma sword, Fal\u00adchion, to assist in remov\u00ading ene\u00admies from any direc\u00adtion on the screen. I also found that Hiryu has two reli\u00adable tech\u00adniques that are game-chang\u00aders: a slid\u00ading move that gets him in tight areas, and a cart\u00adwheel move that allows you to glide from sur\u00adface to sur\u00adface while in a spin\u00adning wheel, mak\u00ading Hiryu unpre\u00addictable when he lands. Hiryu also can per\u00adform a ver\u00adti\u00adcal jump, hang\u00ading and squat\u00adting attacks with Fal\u00adchion. Hiryu will also get some mis\u00adsion sup\u00adport from three bat\u00adtle robots: Dipo\u00addal Saucer, which fires light\u00ading bolts wher\u00adev\u00ader Hiryu swings Fal\u00adchion; RoboPan\u00adther, which cov\u00aders Hiryu from frontal attacks; and, Robot Hawk, which assists Hiryu by severe\u00adly attack\u00ading air\u00adborne ene\u00admies. Apart from the usu\u00adal powerups in hack-and-slash games, there\u2019s also a powerup that increas\u00ades Fal\u00adchion\u2019s power.<\/span>
\nThe music is accept\u00adable for each stage, match\u00ading its theme with a few stand\u00adout tracks for the levels. <\/span>
\nAs much as I love Strid\u00ader, there are a few flaws. The chal\u00adlenge is on full dis\u00adplay from the moment you hit start. In the options screen, you can add up to five lives for Hiryu, but you must frus\u00adtrat\u00ading\u00adly hunt down extra lives and score points to acquire the rest. You also have an obnox\u00adious time lim\u00adit for each stage; if you don\u2019t clear a lev\u00adel in time, you\u2019ll lose a life. I also found it frus\u00adtrat\u00ading that Hiryu can gain up to five life bars, but if he has a sup\u00adport part\u00adner, that can be tak\u00aden away if he suf\u00adfers too much dam\u00adage. That makes his mis\u00adsion much more dif\u00adfi\u00adcult unnec\u00ades\u00adsar\u00adi\u00adly at times. <\/span>
\nStrid\u00ader is per\u00adfect for any\u00adone who wants to act out their post-dystopi\u00adan hero fan\u00adtasies with\u00adout fear of pos\u00adsi\u00adble legal ret\u00adri\u00adbu\u00adtion. It\u2019s an endur\u00ading clas\u00adsic that has tran\u00adscend\u00aded the hack-and-slash genre and made a name for itself in the fight\u00ading game com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty via the MvC series. If there was ever a time that I wish that Strid\u00ader Hiryu was real and ready to kick a cer\u00adtain vil\u00adlain\u00adous coun\u00adtry\u2019s ass, that time is now.
