A mar\u00advelous puz\u00adzle journey<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ah, qui\u00adet, placid Puz\u00adzle Quest. We\u2019ve seen many ver\u00adsions of the clas\u00adsic match-three game and yet, some\u00adhow, some way there\u2019s a unique spin added that catch\u00ades the eye and delights. Mar\u00advel Puz\u00adzle Quest, the mobile jug\u00adger\u00adnaut from Demi\u00adurge Stu\u00addios, is a spec\u00adtac\u00adu\u00adlar extra move-laden free-to-play boun\u00adty for on the go.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve played at least two ver\u00adsions of Puz\u00adzle Quest and they\u2019re decent. Hav\u00ading that his\u00adto\u00adry helps with con\u00adcepts and under\u00adstand\u00ading some of the intri\u00adca\u00adcies of MPQ<\/span>, but the base match-three con\u00adcept is not hard, though. Your goal is to match three or more like-col\u00adored gems (green, black, yel\u00adlow, blue, red, pur\u00adple, and sil\u00adver) to dam\u00adage your oppo\u00adnent until they are downed. You can have a team of one to three char\u00adac\u00adters who will take turns match\u00ading gems against an AI-con\u00adtrolled team. From time to time, match con\u00addi\u00adtions vary \u2014 espe\u00adcial\u00adly depend\u00ading on the mode or in-game event, but the main goal is gen\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly to take out your oppo\u00adnent as clean\u00adly as possible. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Mar\u00advel com\u00adpo\u00adnent comes in through char\u00adac\u00adters to col\u00adlect from the sto\u00adried com\u00adic book com\u00adpa\u00adny. Your team and the AI<\/span>\u2019s team will be com\u00adposed of Mar\u00advel char\u00adac\u00adters rang\u00ading from the obscure to the most recent MCU-themed ver\u00adsions, ranked in a five-star sys\u00adtem. Char\u00adac\u00adters have three spe\u00adcial moves \u2014 some\u00adtimes with sub\u00adsets and pas\u00adsives \u2014 that must be unlocked. How you obtain them is where the pay aspect comes into play. Pric\u00ading can be steep when you\u2019re try\u00ading to build a decent ros\u00adter, but it\u2019s no worse than some of the oth\u00ader options out in the mar\u00adket\u00adplace right now, and it has a more sat\u00adis\u00adfy\u00ading feel to com\u00adplet\u00ading a col\u00adlec\u00adtion here. As a well-known Mar\u00advel doc\u00adtor\u00adal can\u00addi\u00addate, I have had a lot of fun pulling togeth\u00ader a ros\u00adter with MPQ<\/span>. I know most, if not all, of the char\u00adac\u00adters and their vari\u00adants (thanks, Loki!), and it\u2019s decent work to keep track of who I have earned or am still hunt\u00ading down. In the year that I\u2019ve been play\u00ading, I\u2019ve cre\u00adat\u00aded a spread\u00adsheet that\u2019s updat\u00aded dai\u00adly to track where my col\u00adlec\u00adtion stands. It\u2019s that deep.<\/span><\/p>\n

The depth of the puz\u00adzle engine is also sur\u00adpris\u00ading. It\u2019s not uncom\u00admon to strate\u00adgize moves, match\u00ades and board set\u00adup to max\u00adi\u00admize poten\u00adtial dam\u00adage in a fight. The AI<\/span> is well-bal\u00adanced, enough that I rarely feel as though it\u2019s unfair. I also very sel\u00addom lose match\u00ades now that my ros\u00adter is about 80 per\u00adcent com\u00adplete. And in terms of ros\u00adter-build\u00ading, I also tend to get my fair share of rare and pow\u00ader\u00adful five-star char\u00adac\u00adters. MPQ<\/span> could eas\u00adi\u00adly be a mon\u00adey sink, but it\u2019s avoid\u00aded with a lot of devel\u00adop\u00ader bal\u00adanc\u00ading behind the scenes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bal\u00adanc\u00ading act also extends to the dif\u00adfer\u00adent modes, and it\u2019s a job well done. There are quite a few events to choose from at any giv\u00aden time, and they\u2019re fun to mill around in to improve your skills and earn rewards. You can join an Alliance, which is high\u00adly rec\u00adom\u00admend\u00aded. The ben\u00ade\u00adfits from join\u00ading a sol\u00adid squad can mean get\u00adting a rare char\u00adac\u00adter for free, or oth\u00ader perks you might have to pay for nor\u00admal\u00adly. The modes are nice and pro\u00advide a change of pace. There\u2019s a dai\u00adly mode fea\u00adtur\u00ading Dead\u00adpool with dif\u00adfer\u00adent require\u00adments; Ver\u00adsus mode, where you face off against AI-con\u00adtrolled avatars of real teams; Puz\u00adzle Gaunt\u00adlet, where there are solu\u00adtion-ori\u00adent\u00aded puz\u00adzles against teams; Sto\u00adry events, where pre-deter\u00admined sto\u00adries play out through match\u00ades and cut scenes; and, time-lim\u00adit\u00aded events, where you and pos\u00adsi\u00adbly your alliance join forces to take down a boss.<\/span><\/p>\n

Demi\u00adurge Stu\u00addios also does a great job with how the game looks, as well. MPQ<\/span> has some of the best mobile graph\u00adics of any\u00adthing on the mar\u00adket right now, and the use of actu\u00adal run com\u00adic book cov\u00aders to rep\u00adre\u00adsent char\u00adac\u00adters is fan\u00adtas\u00adtic. The back\u00adground art also looks amaz\u00ading and crisp. Demi\u00adurge out\u00addid them\u00adselves and for a sev\u00aden-year-old game, it still looks sol\u00adid and well done. The sound\u00adtrack is nice, but it\u2019s noth\u00ading to write home about. I usu\u00adal\u00adly keep the music turned off, but it\u2019s by no means terrible.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re into Mar\u00advel, you\u2019re going to love this. You\u2019re going to drop a lot of mon\u00adey try\u00ading to build your ros\u00adter, and you\u2019re going to have fun doing it. Even if you\u2019re not into Mar\u00advel that much, you\u2019re going to find some val\u00adue in this. It\u2019s a good time wrapped up in a mobile game that plays well and pro\u00advides a lot in small pack\u00adage. It\u2019s a mar\u00advelous play no mat\u00adter how you look at it.<\/span><\/p>\n
