I am sort of a tech geek. While I do not have the lat\u00adest gad\u00adgets in gam\u00ading or mod\u00adern liv\u00ading, I love to have knowl\u00adedge about the lat\u00adest in dig\u00adi\u00adtal secu\u00adri\u00adty. Dur\u00ading the height of the Covid-19 pan\u00addem\u00adic, I spent time off binge-watch\u00ading the USA<\/span> net\u00adwork show \u201cMr. Robot.\u201d The pro\u00adtag\u00ado\u00adnist, Elliot Ander\u00adson, was not a social but\u00adter\u00adfly, but if he want\u00aded to know some\u00adthing about some\u00adone, all he needs is their dig\u00adi\u00adtal details and he would either help or hin\u00adder them. Before Mr. Robot took form, Ubisoft in 2014 devel\u00adoped a game that applied action-adven\u00adture ele\u00adments and mixed them with cyber\u00adse\u00adcu\u00adri\u00adty and per\u00adson\u00adal pri\u00adva\u00adcy issues involv\u00ading big tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy com\u00adpa\u00adnies. Watch Dogs was born of that curios\u00adi\u00adty. <\/span>
In Watch Dogs, you take on the role of hack\u00ader Aiden Pierce, who in 2012 was col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adrat\u00ading with his mentor\/partner Damien Brenks on an elec\u00adtron\u00adic finan\u00adcial heist in a fic\u00adtion\u00adal Chica\u00adgo hotel. Unknown to the hack\u00ading duo, they tripped off an alarm set by anoth\u00ader hack\u00ader, which forces Aiden to take his fam\u00adi\u00adly out of the city. <\/span>
While on the run, they are pur\u00adsued by hit\u00adman Mau\u00adrice Vega in a car chase that kills Aiden\u2019s niece. Enraged, Aiden, along with partner\/fixer Jor\u00addi Chin, sets off to find Vega and his employ\u00ader while uncov\u00ader\u00ading a hideous con\u00adspir\u00ada\u00adcy behind the pop\u00adu\u00adlar CtOS (Cen\u00adtral Oper\u00adat\u00ading Sys\u00adtem) that has Chica\u00adgo heav\u00adi\u00adly depen\u00addent on it.<\/span>
Watch Dogs is sim\u00adple to play yet requires some prac\u00adtice to be famil\u00adiar with. Using the ana\u00adlog sticks to con\u00adtrol Aiden\u2019s move\u00adments and the in-game cam\u00adera was dif\u00adfi\u00adcult at first; how\u00adev\u00ader, with enough prac\u00adtice, you will have him almost invin\u00adci\u00adble. The menu for Aiden\u2019s col\u00adlect\u00aded items as well as dri\u00adving sce\u00adnar\u00adios are like Grand Theft Auto, which I found frus\u00adtrat\u00ading but not unplayable. Aiden\u2019s main weapons are a col\u00adlapsi\u00adble baton and a portable device known as the Pro\u00adfil\u00ader. The Pro\u00adfil\u00ader picks up NPC<\/span> info that could be used to loot or embar\u00adrass them, depend\u00ading on the sit\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion. Also, you scan scale ver\u00adti\u00adcal walls and crouch behind walls to hide from ene\u00admies. I espe\u00adcial\u00adly like the abil\u00adi\u00adty to hide because it\u2019s well done in its appli\u00adca\u00adtion. Dur\u00ading the first mis\u00adsion of the game, I found Vega and roughed him up, hacked the base\u00adball stadium\u2019s pow\u00ader grid to cause a black\u00adout and snuck away from the police. With the well-prac\u00adticed con\u00adtrols, it was easy to make this sequence work and get on with the rest of the game. That\u2019s how smooth it should be.<\/span>
The graph\u00adics in Watch Dogs are sharp and do well in tak\u00ading advan\u00adtage of Ubisoft\u2019s Dis\u00adrupt engine, which pre\u00adsent\u00aded the city of Chica\u00adgo and its land\u00admarks with great care and detail. Anoth\u00ader detail I liked was the abil\u00adi\u00adty to set the time for Aiden to rest. The rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion of the day and night cycle was per\u00adfect. Watch Dog\u2019s music is a nice mix of adren\u00ada\u00adline and house music and con\u00adtributed well to the over\u00adall atmos\u00adphere. <\/span>
Watch Dogs is great to play if you want to act out your vig\u00adi\u00adlante hero fan\u00adtasies, legal\u00adly, of course. Watch Dogs will not dis\u00adap\u00adpoint, although I would rec\u00adom\u00admend using a strat\u00ade\u00adgy guide to help make your first playthrough more enjoy\u00adable.<\/span>
For those who are inter\u00adest\u00aded in cyber\u00adse\u00adcu\u00adri\u00adty like I am or want to expe\u00adri\u00adence con\u00adtrol of a city by tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy, get to hacking.<\/span><\/p>\n
