Gun\u00addam sec\u00adond game not yet there<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly, I reviewed Dynasty War\u00adriors: Gun\u00addam 3, which set the stage for me to try the oth\u00aders in the series. Lit\u00adtle did I know, I would be learn\u00ading a valu\u00adable les\u00adson: Not every pop\u00adu\u00adlar fran\u00adchise will always have best-sell\u00aders. An excel\u00adlent exam\u00adple would be Dynasty War\u00adriors: Gun\u00addam 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gun\u00addam 2 fol\u00adlows the same ros\u00adter of char\u00adac\u00adters in var\u00adi\u00adous entries in the Gun\u00addam uni\u00adverse, includ\u00ading some char\u00adac\u00adters and mobile suits that were only fea\u00adtured in Gun\u00addam movies. To com\u00adpen\u00adsate for a lack of a sto\u00adry\u00adline, DWG2<\/span> has two modes: Sto\u00adry, where you can play as one of a select group of char\u00adac\u00adters from their respec\u00adtive Gun\u00addam series; and, Mis\u00adsion, where you choose a char\u00adac\u00adter with var\u00adi\u00adous mis\u00adsions set in the uni\u00adver\u00adsal cen\u00adtu\u00adry time\u00adline and you can inter\u00adact with var\u00adi\u00adous char\u00adac\u00adters from oth\u00ader series. As you move along, you gain expe\u00adri\u00adence points to increase your lev\u00adel and col\u00adlect var\u00adi\u00adous mobile suit parts. There is also a chance to earn new skills just like DWG3<\/span> as you advance to high\u00ader levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gun\u00addam 2 also spe\u00adcial mis\u00adsions where you can fight against oth\u00ader oppo\u00adnents to earn licens\u00ades to pilot dif\u00adfer\u00adent suits, earn the trust of oth\u00ader char\u00adac\u00adters to fight beside you and acquire high\u00ader-lev\u00adel parts for mobile suits. The mobile suit lab and ter\u00admi\u00adnal fea\u00adtures help you to keep up with chang\u00ading events and cur\u00adrent devel\u00adop\u00adments with dif\u00adfer\u00adent mobile suits.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I like about Gun\u00addam 2 is that every char\u00adac\u00adter is legit in the Gun\u00addam uni\u00adverse, which made me won\u00adder if I saw the actu\u00adal Gun\u00addam series with that char\u00adac\u00adter. Also, the open\u00ading cin\u00ade\u00adma was high qual\u00adi\u00adty, show\u00ading off the minor suits such as GMs and Zakus, who were observ\u00ading the OG<\/span> RX-78<\/span>, Strike Free\u00addom and Nu Gun\u00addam suits doing bat\u00adtle while the Saz\u00adabi and Psy\u00adcho Gun\u00addam lurked in the shad\u00adows. Addi\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adly, I also appre\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded Nam\u00adco Bandai, Sun\u00adrise and Koei retain\u00ading the orig\u00adi\u00adnal Eng\u00adlish voice actors to reprise their respec\u00adtive char\u00adac\u00adters; this gives DWG2<\/span> the need\u00aded cred\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty as an offi\u00adcial Gun\u00addam video game.<\/span><\/p>\n

How\u00adev\u00ader, despite the good, the bad parts stick out like sore thumbs. When I try to fight in oth\u00ader bat\u00adtle\u00adfields, I\u2019m restrict\u00aded in mov\u00ading, which weak\u00adens my attacks, and leaves me vul\u00adner\u00ada\u00adble. Also, the in-game cam\u00adera was VERY<\/span> unhelp\u00adful, espe\u00adcial\u00adly in boss fights with giant ene\u00admies where I was pilot\u00ading my mobile suit on low ener\u00adgy while run\u00adning and avoid\u00ading attacks by giant ene\u00admies like Psy\u00adcho Gun\u00addam, Big Zam, and Queen Mansa. I also found cer\u00adtain parts of the game have unre\u00adal\u00adis\u00adtic time lim\u00adits to fight ene\u00admies to achieve cer\u00adtain objec\u00adtives. Final\u00adly, I found the biggest insult to me as a Gun\u00addam fan was the graph\u00adics; these feel like cheap knock-off paint jobs of Gun\u00addam and low\u00ader-rank mobile suits alike. To be fair, the asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded pilots look like their ani\u00adme coun\u00adter\u00adparts, but the suits were not giv\u00aden the same treat\u00adment. Unfor\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, I would also be remiss if I did not include the LONG<\/span> wait to obtain skills, unlike in DWG3<\/span>. I could unlock and pur\u00adchase new skills in addi\u00adtion to lev\u00adel\u00ading up char\u00adac\u00adters more effi\u00adcient\u00adly via train\u00ading ses\u00adsions in the lat\u00adter game\u2019s shop.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are hits and miss\u00ades that the qual\u00adi\u00adty assur\u00adance teams should have noticed, but there are bright spots such as music and voice act\u00ading being excel\u00adlent. I would still play Gun\u00addam 2 when I have free time, but Bandai Nam\u00adco did such a rush job on it that I feel jus\u00adti\u00adfied almost not rec\u00adom\u00admend\u00ading it. I\u2019m just glad that DWG3<\/span> is a far supe\u00adri\u00ador prod\u00aduct and sticks to the essen\u00adtials that make Gun\u00addam, well, Gun\u00addam. Dynasty War\u00adriors: Gun\u00addam 2 is on the way but not quite there.<\/span><\/p>\n
