Cap\u00adcom\u2019s instant action plat\u00adform\u00ading classic<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In pre\u00advi\u00adous install\u00adments of Otaku Cor\u00adner, I reviewed man\u00adga based on Cap\u00adcom\u2019s Dev\u00adil May Cry. Ever since DMC\u2019s arrival in 2001, it has grown from a crit\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly acclaimed series to writ\u00adten and visu\u00adal adap\u00adta\u00adtions in comics, writ\u00adten nov\u00adels and oth\u00ader var\u00adi\u00adous mer\u00adchan\u00addise. Orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adly set in the Res\u00adi\u00addent Evil uni\u00adverse, because of tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy restraints and an expand\u00ading reverse sto\u00adry\u00adline from Res\u00adi\u00addent Evil, the series was port\u00aded to the PlaySta\u00adtion 2. Hav\u00ading enjoyed expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading the man\u00adga\u2019s action, I won\u00addered if I would feel the same when I played the first DMC<\/span> game? I was about to find out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dev\u00adil May Cry has ele\u00adments that are sim\u00adi\u00adlar to Res\u00adi\u00addent Evil; the only dif\u00adfer\u00adence is that you will be deal\u00ading with super\u00adnat\u00adur\u00adal ene\u00admies instead of those who were cre\u00adat\u00aded by uneth\u00adi\u00adcal sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic exper\u00adi\u00adments. You assume the role of Dante, a demon hunter\/investigator who uses his skills to exer\u00adcise demons for prof\u00adit and to avenge the loss of his fam\u00adi\u00adly from said crea\u00adtures. One night while work\u00ading, Dante is hired by a mys\u00adte\u00adri\u00adous woman named Trish, who after a brief but amaz\u00ading test of Dan\u00adte\u2019s skill, hires him to go to an aban\u00addoned cas\u00adtle where Mundus, the demon who is respon\u00adsi\u00adble for the death of Dan\u00adte\u2019s fam\u00adi\u00adly, is plan\u00adning a return from hell. Unknown to our badass hero, he has tak\u00aden on a a job that starts out as an oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty for vengeance, but soon will unlock an ancient birthright and his true des\u00adtiny as mankind\u2019s newest pro\u00adtec\u00adtor against demon\u00adic forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Game\u00adplay in DMC<\/span> is a com\u00adplete 180 from Res\u00adi\u00addent Evil as the bat\u00adtle style is more melee com\u00adbat that run\u00adning and hid\u00ading from zom\u00adbies. I found the con\u00adtrols pret\u00adty easy to use, thanks to the ana\u00adlog sticks that allow plen\u00adty of free move\u00adment to jump and take full advan\u00adtage of Dan\u00adte\u2019s sweet com\u00adbat moves. You will love it when Dante gets to busi\u00adness imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly with use of his twin hand\u00adguns that can infict dam\u00adage rapid-fire style and his awsome\u00adly designed sword Alas\u00adtor that can be upgrad\u00aded to unlock new attacks. He also has a BIG<\/span> trump card to real\u00adly make the demons howl with the use of \u201cDev\u00adil Trig\u00adgers\u201d (think Goku or Veg\u00ade\u00adta going Super Saiyan with an arse\u00adnal of weapons and being in god mode).<\/span><\/p>\n

The graph\u00adics are beau\u00adti\u00adful as Cap\u00adcom devel\u00adoped a great game engine and made great use of the PS2\u2019s tech\u00adno\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal capa\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties to bring out the action with\u00adout using the god-awful cam\u00adera angles found in Res\u00adi\u00addent Evil. I per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adly liked how each cutscene brought DMC\u2019s sto\u00adry\u00adline togeth\u00ader with\u00adout any over-the-top dra\u00adma. The ene\u00admy vari\u00adety is good, too, rang\u00ading from demon mar\u00adi\u00adonettes to giant owls and oth\u00ader demon\u00adic crea\u00adtures. I enjoyed the voice act\u00ading because it was not forced, flow\u00ading in sync with the game\u2019s plot. I am proud to say that I would def\u00adi\u00adnite\u00adly replay this game when I\u2019m feel\u00ading like I want to rip some demons apart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dev\u00adil May Cry is a stand\u00adout orig\u00adi\u00adnal game that is wor\u00adthy of its praise from gam\u00ading crit\u00adics the world over. I find this anoth\u00ader tes\u00adti\u00admo\u00adny to the fact that Cap\u00adcom can do them\u00adselves and their cus\u00adtomers jus\u00adtice by being true to their craft. I was pleased with my first DMC<\/span> gam\u00ading expe\u00adri\u00adence and await more in future install\u00adments of this series.<\/span><\/p>\n
