Duo team attack finish<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

MMX5<\/span> takes place sev\u00ader\u00adal months after the events in Mega Man X4<\/span>, dur\u00ading which the giant space colony Eura\u00adsia has been tak\u00aden over by an unknown reploid known as Dynamo as it was under\u00adgo\u00ading exten\u00adsive repairs. As a result, a com\u00adput\u00ader virus infect\u00aded Eurasi\u00ada\u2019s grav\u00adi\u00adty con\u00adtrol sys\u00adtems, send\u00ading it on a col\u00adli\u00adsion course with Earth. At the same time, Sig\u00adma and his new band of Mav\u00ader\u00adicks have tak\u00aden con\u00adtrol of var\u00adi\u00adous areas that have equip\u00adment capa\u00adble of pre\u00advent\u00ading Eurasi\u00ada\u2019s fall, and he has also launched his own virus across the globe. X and Zero, under orders from their new leader Sig\u00adnas, must go to those areas to acquire the equip\u00adment need\u00aded to stop Eura\u00adsia, and send Sig\u00adma back to the scrap heap once more where he belongs. <\/span><\/p>\n

MMX5\u2019s game\u00adplay remains the same as any reg\u00adu\u00adlar action-adven\u00adture game. You can chose between using X and Zero, who each have unique abil\u00adi\u00adties. I chose Zero because of the option to use his Z\u2011Saber and Z\u2011Buster as more effec\u00adtive com\u00adbat tools, and also because of his stronger jump\u00ading abil\u00adi\u00adties. MMX5<\/span> allows both char\u00adac\u00adters to be swapped out dur\u00ading the stage select screen, pro\u00advid\u00aded you choose before time runs out. This adds fresh\u00adness to the game\u00adplay, keep\u00ading the game from being too mun\u00addane or too com\u00adfort\u00adable for a cho\u00adsen character. <\/span><\/p>\n

I liked the fact that there are new armors in the game that X can start off with. The Gaia armor from MMX<\/span> 4 is less pow\u00ader\u00adful but still gets the job done. You can find oth\u00ader armor sets that will give you an advan\u00adtage, with good old Dr. Light pro\u00advid\u00ading insight about them. He has also made a spe\u00adcial armor for Zero that you will find lat\u00ader on. I also want to note that if play\u00aders pay close atten\u00adtion, there will be some back\u00adground scenes in MMX<\/span> pay\u00ading trib\u00adute to clas\u00adsic Mega Man and Mega Man X games.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plot of the game, while a good sto\u00adry\u00adline point with stop\u00adping Eura\u00adsia, may frus\u00adtrate you because you would have to defeat the first four Mav\u00ader\u00adicks and lat\u00ader be told that two were devel\u00adoped simul\u00adta\u00adne\u00adous\u00adly with\u00adout pre\u00advi\u00adous knowl\u00adedge of both plans. I also ques\u00adtioned the devel\u00adop\u00ader\u2019s method of stage plan\u00adning when they placed Dynamo in near\u00adly every mid bat\u00adtle to delay either X or Zero with\u00adout any strong chal\u00adlenge, and I ques\u00adtioned why, dur\u00ading Duff McWhalen\u2019s stage, it takes a huge amount of game time to fight off a sub-boss that required run\u00adning and fir\u00ading just to keep it at bay.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite some frus\u00adtrat\u00ading issues, MMX5<\/span> is a great game to kill time with and shows how \u2014 with prop\u00ader care and fresh ideas \u2014 a gam\u00ading fran\u00adchise can still be rel\u00ade\u00advant. Get the pic\u00adture, Capcom?<\/span><\/p>\n
