To sat\u00adis\u00adfy my portable gam\u00ading needs, I got a few Game Gear games that would hold my atten\u00adtion. I\u2019m not much of a puz\u00adzle man, but one stood out as an alter\u00adna\u00adtive to the high\u00adly pop\u00adu\u00adlar Tetris at the time: Columns.<\/span><br>\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Columns\u2019 game\u00adplay is sim\u00adi\u00adlar to Tetris, except that you\u2019re match\u00ading var\u00adi\u00adous gems with each oth\u00ader before their row known as \u2014 you guessed it \u2014 columns stack up, ulti\u00admate\u00adly end\u00ading your game. The game back\u00adsto\u00adry claims that its ori\u00adgins hails from Mid\u00addle East\u00adern mer\u00adchants with also a lit\u00adtle bit of Greece mixed&nbsp;in.&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1185\" src=\"http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07-300x242.png\" alt width=\"300\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07-300x242.png 300w, http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07-1024x825.png 1024w, http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07-768x618.png 768w, http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07-373x300.png 373w, http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Columns-07.png 1171w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\"><\/span><br>\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Con\u00adtrol of the columns is sim\u00adple: Guide the columns\u2019 rows and arrange pieces to fit. It\u2019s a sim\u00adple con\u00adcept that is quick\u00adly under\u00adstood. You can be a new\u00adbie or a puz\u00adzle expert and still jump into play\u00ading. There\u2019s also an option to change the items from jew\u00adels, to fruit, dice, or tra\u00addi\u00adtion\u00adal play\u00ading card suits, which livens up the game\u00adplay slightly.&nbsp;<\/span><br>\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The graph\u00adics are top-notch in both ver\u00adsions. The graph\u00adics are col\u00ador\u00adful and more than just bricks being moved around. They look good even in a small set\u00adting like the Game&nbsp;Gear.&nbsp;<\/span><br>\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-591 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/gaminginsurrection.com\/reviews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Score-4-retrograde.jpg\" alt width=\"90\" height=\"148\">The music in Columns varies from ancient Roman tunes to a futur\u00adis\u00adtic beat that is calm\u00ading dur\u00ading game\u00adplay. The sound\u00adtrack is a nice men\u00adtal break for the mind, which helps when you\u2019re pos\u00adsi\u00adbly fran\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly mak\u00ading matches.&nbsp;<\/span><br>\n<span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Columns is an under\u00ades\u00adti\u00admat\u00aded crown jew\u00adel that shines on all Sega sys\u00adtems. It\u2019s a fun alter\u00adna\u00adtive to Tetris with a nice calm\u00ading effect to boot. Geert\u00adsen believed there was a bet\u00adter way to learn skills and have fun at the same time. He came up with mod\u00adi\u00adfy\u00ading Tic Tac-Toe and applied it as a way to help soft\u00adware engi\u00adneers prac\u00adtice their pro\u00adgram\u00ading.
